End of Year Report: 2017

It's been a busy first year as your State MP, but I wanted to take this opportunity to give you a quick update on where we are at with key local issues.

Shark Eco-Barrier at Falcon Bay.

With your support, we've secured funding from the state government for an eco-barrier to be built at Falcon Bay.

The City of Mandurah is now undertaking the planning and design phase - with public consultation starting early 2018. Friend I'll make sure I keep you in the loop as this work continues.

Bridge Congestion.

As a result of pressure in Parliament, I have secured a commitment from the Transport Minister to review traffic conditions across the island to be released by Main Roads next year (you may have seen the traffic counters recently Friend).

As part of the review, I've asked that it looks at solutions to ease the merge related congestion getting out of the island on the three-lane bridge.

Crossing Old Coast Road.

A number of parents have raised with me their concerns about children crossing Old Coast Road to get to school.

After working on this issue in Parliament, it's clear to me Friend that we need to get pedestrian crossings with better visibility and safer refuge islands. This will be a top priority of mine next year.

I believe in being as open and transparent as possible. That's why I put together this quick infographic to let you know what I've been up to as your State Member of Parliament.

It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as your Member of Parliament since 11 March 2017. 2018 promises to be just as busy, as I continue to fight for our community. I would love to hear from you if you have any feedback or advice on what else I can work on or improve. Simply click "get in touch".
